Kidney Foundation Bangladesh Sylhet Branch is a dream project of Professor Ziauddin Ahmed, who is a kidney specialist since 1986 and Professor of Medicine and Nephrology at Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA.
The kidney Health Care Program(KHC) helps people with end-stage renal disease get their health care services.
ABOUT KIDNEY FOUNDATION
Kidney Foundation Bangladesh Sylhet Branch is a dream project of Professor Ziauddin Ahmed, who is a kidney specialist since 1986 and Professor of Medicine and Nephrology at Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA. He is the son of Shaheed Professor Shamsuddin Ahmed FRCS who was professor and head of the surgery at Sylhet Medical College. He was martyred when he was treating the patients inside the hospital by the brutal action of Pakistani army during Bangladesh Liberation war in 1971.
The foundation and the Hospital will be a nonprofit organization to provide prevention and treatment of kidney disease. The center also will play a major role in creating awareness in public, training health care workers, conducting research etc.
