Kidney Foundation Hospital inaugurated in Sylhet
The Kidney Foundation Hospital was recently inaugurated in the Badaghat Road area of Nazir village in Sylhet. On Saturday, January 11, 2025, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus announced the inauguration of the hospital in a video message. He said that this 150-bed hospital will play a special role in providing healthcare to the underprivileged. The foundation had been providing treatment in a rented building since 2018.
The program was attended by Rasheda K Chowdhury, and Dr. Harun Ur Rashid, Major General Azizur Rahman (Bir Uttam), and Secretary of Sylhet Foundation Colonel MA Salam (Bir Pratik). The program was addressed by Social Welfare Advisor Sharmin Murshid,

BRAC Managing Director Tamara Hasan Abed and BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh and Professor Dr. Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury of Usmani Hospital, along with many other dignitaries from home and abroad.

The speakers mentioned that such an initiative is timely to address the growing challenges of kidney disease.
The hospital authorities said that there are plans to upgrade it as a full-fledged kidney treatment center in the future. The inauguration ceremony mentioned that the project has been implemented with the help of the government, local people, and expatriate Bangladeshis.
