Activity of Kidney Foundation

Kidney Foundation Hospital Sylhet (KFHS) is a 200-bed not-for-profit, specialized renal care hospital offering state-of-the-art treatment for both acute and chronic kidney diseases. The facility provides a wide range of services, including hemodialysis, interventional nephrology, outpatient and inpatient nephrology care, laboratory diagnostics, minor surgeries, and emergency kidney-related interventions.

KFHS’s activities include:

Dialysis Services:
Operating over 75 dialysis sessions per day across 37 dialysis machines, with over 55% of sessions provided free or subsidized for underprivileged patients.

Outpatient and Inpatient Care: Daily consultations in nephrology, management of complex kidney conditions, and inpatient wards for critical and pre/post-dialysis care.

Training and Capacity
Building: Regular training workshops for nephrology nurses and physicians, with plans to establish an international-standard training center.

Community Outreach:
Free health camps, flood and COVID-19 response units, and annual World Kidney Day campaigns for awareness and early detection.

Research and Innovation: Conducting research in rural and urban populations on kidney disease trends, prevention, and treatment outcomes.

Strategic Partnerships: Collaboration with government (PPP model), BRAC, local and international NGOs, and overseas donor communities (including Kidney Foundation
UK CIC).

Future Expansion:
Plans include introducing a kidney transplant program, ICU/critical care upgrades, and a digital tele-nephrology network to reach remote areas.
